Alpha Games’ Rebellion in the Rim campaign, January 2020.
FULLY SUBSCRIBED – WAITING LIST AVAILABLE
What is it?
Rebellion in the Rim is an epic campaign expansion for Star Wars: Armada that takes 2 to 6 players to the farthest reaches of the galaxy, where they must fight for control of the territories and resources that may prove invaluable in the wars ahead.
To play, you must be able to commit to 2 consecutive Sundays play on the 19th and 26th January 2020, 11:00 – 17:00, at Alpha Games and contribute £3 to cover the cost of prizes for all players. Ideally, you’ll be able to bring your own fleet and/or be willing to lend ships to other less fortunate Admirals on the day.
In return, you’ll learn how to play Star Wars Armada, participate in the campaign and walk away with prizes from the FFG Season 3 2019 Organised Play kit, including 3 different large ship cards, Neb-B Escort Frigate, CR90 Corvette A and Victory 1 class SD, plus 1 each of 3 small cards, Expert Shield Tech, Boarding Engineers and Heavy Ion Emplacements kindly provided by Chris at Alpha Games.
Who can play?
You could be an inexperienced captain or veteran Admiral with or without a fleet you’re more than welcome.
All you need to do is be able to attend both days and contribute £3 to cover the cost of prizes for all participants. Ian and I will do our best to accommodate anyone able and willing to commit to playing on Sunday the 19th and 26th January 2020.
Alpha Games, Unit 7, Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate West, Stanton, Bury Saint Edmunds IP31 2AR.
Sunday the 19th and 26th January 2020, further dates to follow by agreement.
Between now and January, Ian has kindly made himself available for introductory and refresher games so that you can get to grips with Armada’s mechanics or refine your skills.
Rebellion in the Rim is played over 1 to 3 acts during which players attempt to gain campaign points by participating in games of Star Wars: Armada called battles.
Unlike a typical Star Wars Armada game, battles may contain fleets of unequal power, and they can range in size, consisting of skirmishes between small fleets or encounters that include large team fleets. During battles, in addition to earning campaign points, players gain experience and rewards to upgrade their task force’s capabilities.
When 1 team has earned enough points, the current act ends and players gather for a special team game called a pivotal battle. We hope to be able to complete an act (or 2) over the 2 days of play.
On the first day, players will be divided in to 2 teams of opposing factions, the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance. Each team will select 1 player to be its Grand Admiral and each player will create a task force commander and, in conjunction with their team, a task force consisting of 200 points. Games will take place on a 3’ x 3’ play area.
After each team has designed its fleet, their respective bases will be placed on the campaign map and we’ll be ready to begin.
